Victor C Alvarez is a Founding Member and Managing Director at Alvarez & Marsal Property Investments. Victor oversees overall strategic direction, deal sourcing, underwriting and Portfolio management for AMPI. Prior founding AMPI, Victor served as a Director with Alvarez & Marsal, LLC North American Commercial Restructuring practice representing clients and lenders in various stages of the restructuring process, including both Chapter 11 and out-of-court restructurings. He has assisted clients across a range of industries, including homebuilding, consumer products, manufacturing, telecommunications and healthcare. Victor earned a Bachelor’s degree in economics from the Tulane University.
Michael Marsal is a Founding Member and Managing Director at Alvarez & Marsal Property Investments. Michael oversees general business direction, deal sourcing, Leasing and Due Diligence for AMPI. Prior to founding AMPI, Michael oversaw development, acquisitions, and management of various Alvarez & Marsal Inc. (parent co.) investments. In addition, Michael founded DRCC Automotive, a high end automotive dealership and service facility with a focus on motorsport. Michael earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from LaSalle University.
Grant Schoenthaler is a Founding Member and Managing Director at Alvarez and Marsal Property Investments. Grant oversees all day-to-day operations & management of AMPI, AMPI business lines, and its Real Estate portfolio. In addition to operations, Grant helps oversee underwriting and due diligence for all transactions. Grant attended the Jack Welch College of Business at Sacred Heart University where he studied Finance and Management.
Chris Woelfle is the Chief Financial Officer for Alvarez & Marsal Property Investments. Chris brings over 25 years of Finance and accounting experience to the AMPI team and oversees all Debt and Finance functions for AMPI. Prior to joining AMPI, Chris was President of Novamet Specialty Products Corporation, a Vale Inco Company, where he managed the successful sale of the business in May 2010. He prepared the company for divestiture by implementing financial improvements and manufacturing efficiencies and conducted management presentations to help prospective buyers understand the company's business and financials. Chris earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Seton Hall University and a Master’s in Business Administrations in Accounting and Corporate Finance.
Zach Kutsher is the in-house General Counsel for Alvarez & Marsal Property Investments handling all of its legal and transactional needs. Zach brings over 16 years of real estate experience to the AMPI team and has been responsible for over $10B in real estate transactions in connection with the purchase, sale, workout, financing, refinancing and leasing of commercial, mixed use, distressed and residential real estate properties throughout the U.S. and abroad for private equity shops, institutional lenders and investment banks. Prior to joining AMPI Zach practiced law at Cravath, Swaine & Moore and Duval & Stachenfeld. Zach graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and cum laude from Fordham University School of Law where he was a member of the Fordham Law Review. Zach was admitted to the New York Bar in 2000.
Kevin Halm is responsible for overseeing property management operations for Alvarez & Marsal Property Management. With over 10 years of commercial real estate experience, he has demonstrated the ability to implement successful asset management strategies on behalf of building owners and stakeholders. Prior to Alvarez & Marsal Property Management, Kevin spent 9 years with CBRE where he was property manager for several strategic client accounts. In this role, he oversaw day to day operations at prominent Chicago office buildings. Kevin also held a role with a nationally recognized post-secondary education firm where he oversaw facilities management nationally and had key roles in leasing and construction management. With over 11 years in commercial real estate, Kevin has worked on assignments up to 1.5MM square feet on both local and national levels. Kevin earned a B.S. in Finance from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. Kevin is an active member of the Building Owners and Managers Association and on the Board of Directors. Kevin earned the Real Property Administrator (RPA) designation through BOMI International and the LEED Green Associate designation through the US Green Building Council.
Blair deBart is a New York City based Associate at Alvarez & Marsal Property Investments (“AMPI”) primarily responsible for Asset Management. Blair manages several office and mixed-use properties located in downtown Chicago, where the AMPM team is headquartered. He is directly responsible for overseeing the Property Management, Leasing and Construction Teams to carry out AMPI’s investment strategy. Additionally, Blair assists the acquisitions team in underwriting and due diligence for all new investments. Blair earned a Bachelor of Science in Management from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University in New Orleans.
Rory McCarthy is a Director at Alvarez & Marsal Property Investments (“AMPI”). Rory oversees acquisitions and operations for AMPI in the Denver and Mountain Region. Prior to joining AMPI, Rory was a Manager within the Alvarez & Marsal Real Estate Advisory Group (“REAS”). At REAS, Rory focused on client related real estate due diligence, underwriting analysis, cash flow modeling, valuation and market research for a variety of property types across multiple markets. Rory earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Oklahoma.
Justin Garrison is a Property Manager for Alvarez & Marsal Property Management. Justin has 13 years of commercial real estate experience managing over 2.6M square feet of office product in the downtown Chicago market. Under his leadership, Justin’s buildings won numerous accolades including multiple BOMA TOBY awards for The Outstanding Building of the Year in Chicago and the US and most recently won the International BOMA TOBY in 2018 for his work at the Boeing building in Chicago. Justin brings a strong accounting background and attention to detail while overseeing the planning and execution of financial reporting and capital improvement projects for his Clients. Justin earned a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Catawba College where he also played 4 years of Division II lacrosse. Justin is a Licensed Real Estate Broker in the state of Illinois as well as a LEED Green Associate.
Dana Giragosian is a Property Administrator for Alvarez & Marsal Property Management (“AMPM”). Dana is responsible for executing the Tenant Relations Program, addressing tenant inquiries, Marketing & Branding of Client’s buildings, processing accounts payables, and management of the internal work order system across AMPM’s client portfolio. Dana’s skillset has enabled AMPM to grow its Tenant Relations Program and overall level of tenant engagement by overseeing events, newsletters/communications, and more active face-to-face interactions with tenants and our team. Prior to AMPM, Dana worked with Uber as their Office Manager, Security Specialist, and Receptionist. Dana graduated from The University of St. Francis with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and spent 7 years as a teacher prior to joining Uber.
Jeffrey Goodman is an Associate at Alvarez & Marsal Property Investments (“AMPI”). Jeffrey is primarily responsible for sourcing new deals, acquisition due diligence, transaction management, and portfolio management. Jeff brings to the team expert and creative financial modeling and portfolio analysis. Prior to joining AMPI, Jeffrey spent 6 years at Lubert-Adler Real Estate Funds where he was responsible for acquisitions, asset management, portfolio management and capital fundraising. Jeffrey earned a B.S. in Management from Indiana University.
Gene Kasmer is a Property Manager for Alvarez & Marsal Property Management (“AMPM”). Gene is responsible for portfolio level operations, management of building staff and third-party vendors, financial, budget and audit preparation, lease negotiations, as well as tenant relations. Gene has 12 years of commercial real estate experience managing over 3.5M square feet of office product in the downtown Chicago market. Additionally, Gene has extensive building renovation experience including the construction of a 500,000 square foot Class A office building in Chicago. Gene earned his M.S.R.E in Commercial Real Estate from Roosevelt University with Honors, earned an M.B.A. from Northeastern Illinois University with Honors, and an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from DePaul University with Honors. He is a licensed real estate broker and earned the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Accredited Professional O+M designation. He is also a member of the Chicago Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) Energy and Sustainability Committee.
Annette Perez is the Senior Accountant for Alvarez & Marsal Property Management. Annette brings over 10 years of commercial and residential real estate experience to the AMPM team and is responsible for the day to day accounting as well as Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Financial reporting. Annette earned a B.S. in Computer Science with a Minor in Business from St. John’s University in Queens, NY and a Master’s degree in Accounting and Financial Management from Keller Graduate School of Management.
Allyssa Shodahl is a Tenant Services Coordinator for Alvarez & Marsal Property Management. She is responsible for addressing tenant inquiries, processing accounts payables and management of the work order system. Allyssa brings 4 years of real estate management experience with a focus on building vendor relationships. Allyssa graduated from Lake Forest College with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science.
Joshua Kellerman is responsible for overseeing leasing operations for Alvarez & Marsal Property Investments. Mr. Kellerman brings to his position more than 12 years of commercial real estate experience and has completed more than 300 transactions. Prior to joining AMPI, Mr. Kellerman served as Director of Leasing with Newmark Knight Frank, where he focused on leasing part of the John Buck portfolio in the Chicago Business District, along with managing other third party accounts. Mr. Kellerman earned his Masters in Real Estate (MSRE) at Roosevelt University. He received his Bachelor of Science in Management at Indiana University. Mr. Kellerman is also an active member of the Chicago Office Lease Brokers Association (COLBA).
Lily Justh is a Tenant Services Coordinator for Alvarez & Marsal Property Management. She is responsible for assisting with the day to day operations at 7 buildings in the downtown Chicago area. Lily is an experienced property management professional with a background in residential real estate, hospitality and customer service. Prior to joining AMPM, Lily worked with the Habitat Company as their Property Operations Coordinator. Lily attended St. Louis University where she studied Occupational Therapy.
Pete Kontos is a Director with Alvarez & Marsal Property Investments and oversees design and construction projects throughout the portfolio of AMPI. With over 14 years of experience in new construction, commercial interiors, rehabilitation and residential development – Pete is responsible for the project management, design and construction management of capital and tenant improvements. Prior to joining AMPI, Pete was a project director for over 13 years with Chicago-based Partners by Design – specializing in corporate interiors and completing a diverse range of projects including technology firms, base building improvements, law firms and multi-location global corporate clients. Mr. Kontos is a licensed architect in the State of Illinois and earned his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is an active member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
